2016 Year in Review

2016: A Year in Review

As 2016 comes to an end, the Eyemagnet team has been reflecting on our achievements this year. Join us as we take a look back at what has been our biggest year yet.

At the start of this year we released the new website for the New Zealand Domain Name Commission Limited (DNCL). We gave the website a clean, professional design while supporting a responsive viewing experience on all devices, ensuring the website is easy to navigate despite its large content base.

We built several modular extensions that expanded the base functionality to allow for all the services provided by the site: domain name search and analytics tools, automated newsletter subscriptions, a dispute resolution process and much more.

We partnered with Panasonic Australia and Harvey Norman to create a new motion technology application that can be seen in their largest retail branch on the Gold Coast.

Harnessing the power of 3D sensors, we designed an interactive hallway with screens that flare up with a ferocious flame animations or boil with bubbling water as a customer walks past. This solution includes the control to intersperse these motion-sensitive effects with dynamic advertising content.

The north-facing NZX news ticker board on the Zurich Building in Auckland was moved to below the existing east-facing side.

We assisted with project management for the move, including sourcing updated mounting cabinets and management of the LED display tiles. We also updated the display software with a graphical facelift, changing the fonts, colours and logos to increase readability and give the ticker a fresh new look.

NZX Design Update

We installed an electronic signage solution for the New Zealand Parliament, utilising our Blackeye Content Management System to display important information such as Select Committee room schedules and availability, welcome messages, tour schedules, and more.

We sourced custom-built casings and screen enclosures for the project, ensuring the modern additions respected the heritage of the location.

We've recently had the exclusive opportunity to build the web platform for Wellington-based startup PartTimer, an innovative new service which aspires to revolutionise the employment process for students and young professionals.

PartTimer has employers approach candidates – job-seekers only need to set up their profile and wait for the offers to come in, and employers can easily search through applicants using requirements such as location and availability to help find the perfect employee.

We developed and installed a live media solution for Rodd & Gunn on Fashion Island in Newport Beach, California. The American flagship store features an Eyemagnet-powered video wall displaying a live feed of the beautiful and pristine views of Lake Wakatipu from outside Rodd & Gunn in Queenstown, New Zealand.

Eyemagnet systems allow for captivating playlists using uploaded feed recordings of Queenstown as well as Rodd & Gunn media and advertising campaigns.
